Step 3: Replacement Process

2. Purchase Components: Check the lookup tables for available replacements on the webshop. Pre-2010 G6R and Symax 1 require replacing both remote and receiver. Ensure 2nd thermocouple compatibility:
   • G6R Examples:
     • For fireplaces without 2nd thermocouple (e.g., G6R-R4A Receiver): G6R-R4AUC Receiver + G6R-H4T2 Remote.
     • For fireplaces with 2nd thermocouple: G6R-R4AUT Receiver + G6R-H4T2 Remote.
     • Powerflue/advanced features: B6R-H8TV4PBD Remote + B6R-R8PC Receiver or B6R-R8PT2 Receiver.
   • B6R Examples:
     • For fireplaces without 2nd thermocouple (e.g., B6R-R8U Receiver): B6R-R8PC Receiver + B6R-H8TV4PBD Remote.
     • For fireplaces with 2nd thermocouple (e.g., B6R-R8UT Receiver): B6R-R8PT2 Receiver + B6R-H8TV4PBD Remote.

These suffixes do not affect compatibility and can be ignored when identifying or replacing remotes (e.g., G6R-H4S1-A, G6R-H4S1-B, and G6R-H4S1-Z22 are equivalent to G6R-H4S1).
• Symax remote articles may include suffixes indicating color and optional brand logos. A W suffix denotes a white-colored remote (e.g., B6R-H8TV4PW), and a B suffix denotes a black-colored remote (e.g., B6R-H8TV4PB). Additional suffixes after W or B usually indicate fireplace brand logos. These suffixes do not affect functionality or compatibility and can be ignored when replacing remotes (e.g., B6R-H8TV4PBD, B6R-H8TV4PW, B6R-H8TV4PB are equivalent).
• “2nd burner” refers to a secondary gas burner bed controlled by a separate solenoid, allowing independent operation of an additional burner for aesthetic or heat distribution purposes. Supported by remotes like G6R-H4TB (pre-2010), G6R-H4T2 Remote, G6R-H4TV4 (post-2010), B6R-H8TL3 (Symax 1), and B6R-H8TV4PBD Remote (Symax 2).
• “2nd thermocouple” is a safety feature for long or wide fireplaces, monitoring heat at a second location to prevent gas buildup if the fire goes out on low settings, reducing explosion risks.       • Look for “433.92 MHz” (G6R) or “868 MHz” (B6R) on the remote or receiver. The label also features a production date in the format WW/YY (e.g., 09/21 for week 9 of 2021).
      • If 433.92 MHz, it’s G6R (proceed to step 2). If 868 MHz, it’s B6R (proceed to step 3).
   2. G6R: Determine Year and 2nd Thermocouple Support:
      • Check the production date (WW/YY). If before 01/10 (week 1, 2010), assume pre-2010 (e.g., G6R-R4A; replace both with G6R-R4AUC Receiver + G6R-H4T2 Remote). If 01/10 or later, assume post-2010 (e.g., G6R-R4AUC Receiver or G6R-R4AUT Receiver).
      • Check receiver for 2nd thermocouple support: G6R-R4AUT Receiver, G6R-R4AUTC are for fireplaces with 2nd thermocouples (replace with G6R-R4AUT Receiver); others (e.g., G6R-R4A, G6R-R4AM, G6R-R4AUC Receiver) are not (replace with G6R-R4AUC Receiver).
      • Look for remote features: Pre-2010 remotes have simpler designs (e.g., G6R-H4S1) or basic thermostat/2nd burner (e.g., G6R-H4TB). Post-2010 remotes may have fan/dimmer (e.g., G6R-H4TV4) or Powerflue (e.g., G6R-H4TV14). Replace with G6R-H4T2 Remote or Symax 2 for Powerflue/advanced features.
   3. B6R: Determine Symax Version and 2nd Thermocouple Support:

      • Count remote buttons:

   4. Inspect Receiver:
