Welcome to SDM Parts, your trusted source for high-quality spare parts for gas fireplaces. We specialize in components for fireplaces powered by Maxitrol gas valves, a name synonymous with reliable gas control systems. From replacements to accessories, SDM Parts provides the parts that keep your fireplace performing safely and efficiently, season after season.

SDM Parts has its roots in my lifelong journey within the gas fireplace industry. It all began in 2007 when I joined my father’s company, Sunderman Fireplaces, a family business committed to designing and manufacturing gas fireplaces. In 2010, I became co-owner, and by 2015, I had fully taken over, transforming the company into Sunwood® Dutch Design. As Sunwood, we built a reputation for producing top-quality outdoor gas patio fires, which also used Maxitrol valves due to our longstanding relationship with the brand. At its peak, Sunwood B.V. had a dedicated team of six full-time professionals, and we proudly shipped thousands of outdoor fireplaces to satisfied customers.

During our earlier years, from 2007 to 2012, we often had surplus Maxitrol parts and were approached by Maxitrol to make these available to third parties. This request sparked the creation of SDM Parts as a standalone business. Initially a small side venture, SDM Parts has since grown into an essential resource for gas fireplace spare parts. Following the sale of Sunwood’s assets in 2024, I stepped away from Sunwood completely and dedicated my efforts to SDM Parts and other ventures.

As a small, independently run business, SDM Parts values personal connection and quality service. I’m passionate about what I do, and I work hands-on to ensure your experience with us is seamless. I’m often on the road across Europe, working from my camper van while also pursuing my passion as a tandem skydiving instructor. Although I may not always be available by phone, I’m committed to responding promptly—just leave a voicemail or send me a WhatsApp, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
